Egg and Onion Tart

Ingredients
  • 2 frozen pie shells
  • 3 cups onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp Lactantia unsalted butter
  • 2 cups Lactantia 15% cooking cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups Black Diamond Shredded Italiano
  • salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large skillet, slowly melt the butter and sauté the onions over medium-low heat. Once it has reduced by half, add salt and pepper, mix thoroughly and let cool.
  3. Pour onion mix in each pie shell.
  4. Beat eggs and cream, pour on top of onion mix. Top with Black Diamond Shredded Italiano.
  5. Bake for about 30 minutes.
